Gooed Riddance Review: The Adhesive Remover That Cuts Through Gunk Like Butter

gooed riddance adhesive remover product on counter with scrubber

By The Cleaning Lady

We’ve all been there—standing over a jar, furiously scratching off the last bits of a label that just won’t budge, or staring down a baking pan that looks like it survived a house fire. I don’t usually fall for the “miracle remover” hype, but when I came across Gooed Riddance, a non-toxic, water-based goo and adhesive remover, I was too curious not to test it.

So I put it through its paces. Not once, but twice. And folks—I was pleasantly surprised.

What is Gooed Riddance?

Gooed Riddance is a creamy, paste-like adhesive remover that claims to “disperses” or “break apart” sticky residue, tar, wax, labels, tape, pine sap, and more. “In a microscope, GR really does break apart adhesive into tiny bits that are no longer sticky,” says Founder Dan. It’s:

  • Water-based and non-toxic
  • Free from harsh fumes or flammable solvents
  • Made in the USA
  • Biodegradable
  • Safe for glass, metal, plastic, and most household surfaces

And how cute is the name of the product!?! Lol.

Test #1: Battle of the Jar Label

I save glass jars for various reasons so my first test was a stubborn pasta sauce jar that had already been through the dishwasher—twice—and that label was still clinging like its life depended on it. I didn’t even peel it first. I went straight in with the Gooed Riddance paste a scrubber.

Result? It sliced through the sticky mess like butter. No soaking, no steaming, no fingernail gymnastics.

But I wasn’t done.

I wanted to know if it was the scrubber doing the heavy lifting or the product itself. So I repeated the test using only a paper towel—no scrubber.

And it still worked.

The paste alone melted through the label adhesive. Even the stubborn glue layer underneath wiped clean with just a little pressure. Honestly, I didn’t expect that kind of performance from a “safe” cleaner

Test #2: The Tar-Crusted Baking Pan

Next up: a baking pan that looked like it had lost a fight with a campfire. We’re talking burnt-on, tar-like residue that mysteriously appeared after Mr. Cleaning Lady cooked one night.

Before

I scooped a bit of Gooed Riddance onto one corner of the pan, grabbed the scrubber, and gave it a go. Since Gooed Riddance is non-toxic I wasn’t worried about using it on a baking pan.

It definitely took some scrubbing — but after 3 or 4 other products I tried, this worked the best.

Texture, Smell, and Rinse Factor

The paste is light and spreadable — kindof like whipped cream. There’s no chemical smell.

Cleanup is a breeze: just wipe and rinse with water. No oily residue left behind.

Final Verdict

Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

Gooed Riddance has earned a spot in my cleaning caddy. It:

  • Cuts through sticky label gunk with ease
  • Requires minimal effort — even without the scrubber
  • Actually works on tough grime like tar and pine sap
  • Is safe, non-toxic, and rinses clean
